Online seminar • Science for Rural Recovery and Resilience • Monday, May 10, 2021 • 3.30pm to 5pm
This event, the showpiece in our annual event calendar, will again take place online this year. Chaired by Dr Rebekah Widdowfield, chief executive of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, it takes the form of an online seminar.
As a planet, we are currently dealing with unprecedented twin crises – the Covid-19 pandemic and the global climate emergency. We need to change the way we farm, produce, and manage our land; and we need to shape our recovery to reboot our economy on a new, greener, fairer trajectory. This opportunity will not come again – we must not waste it.
Speakers include: Prof Pete Smith FRSE, University of Aberdeen; Dr Leslie Mabon, Scottish Association for Marine Science; Prof Lee Innes FRSE, Moredun Research Institute; Prof Lorna Dawson FRSE, James Hutton Institute; and Prof David Raey, University of Edinburgh.
