This event, the showpiece in our annual event calendar, was an online seminar chaired by Dr Rebekah Widdowfield, chief executive of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

As a planet, we are currently dealing with unprecedented twin crises – the Covid-19 pandemic and the global climate emergency. We need to change the way we farm, produce, and manage our land; and we need to shape our recovery to reboot our economy on a new, greener, fairer trajectory. This opportunity will not come again – we must not waste it.

Speakers: Prof Pete Smith FRSE, University of Aberdeen; Dr Leslie Mabon, Scottish Association for Marine Science; Prof Lee Innes FRSE, Moredun Research Institute; Prof Lorna Dawson FRSE, James Hutton Institute; and Prof David Raey, University of Edinburgh.
