‘Food for thought: food security in changing times’

This prestigious annual event jointly arranged by SCRR and the Royal Society of Edinburgh took place at the RSE on 7th May 2024 and addressed global food security. Expert speakers Professor Rachel Norman FRSE of the University of Stirling,  Dr Peter Alexander of the University of Edinburgh and Dr Wu Huang of Imperial College set the scene and challenged the audience to think about the issues involved, sparking wide ranging and fascinating questions and comments from attendees.

For the first time in the event’s 19 year history, it was held both in-person and online. We were also delighted that Peter Wilson’s grandson was able to join us at the RSE for the event created in memory of the distinguished agriculturalist and former RSE general secretary, Professor Peter Wilson CBE.
